Mommy Needs a Makeover!

For the first time in my life, I will have daytime hours to myself.  Time that I can rediscover who I am.  I have spent 18 years with my children and along the way I seem to have forgotten who I am.
There was a time that I used to go to the gym.  I used to curl my hair, EVERYDAY.  I even wore makeup and would make regular visits to the nail salon.  I used to "be somebody".  But somewhere along the way, I have gotten into some sort of rut where I forgot I was a girl and daily put my hair up in a bun and threw on the same ratty t-shirt with bleach stains and holes in it.  I think to myself, gee whiz, why doesn't my husband think I'm "HOT"! Laughing to myself, I don't think I'm hot either.
So, now that the children are all going to be in school this year I thought it would be exciting to spruce things up!
Since my funds are limited right now with all of the money spent on back to school shopping, I thought I would wait a few weeks before I get my hair cut and colored.  It's time for a new look.  My 18 year old son has informed me that I have had the same hair style for over 20 years.  I would have to say I agree with him on that one.  So, I will explore the world of Pinterest and find a sexy new do.
So what can I change now while I'm on a budget?  Well, I think it will be Mommy Makeover day!  First, let's start with the basics.  A home pedicure and manicure!  For years I would go to the nail salon and get acrylic nails.  They looked great at first but with the demands of all of my kids and also lack of funds, it was hard to maintain them.  So, I have decided to just do them myself for now.  I'm actually really enjoying it!  It's giving me something to do with my girls and it makes me feel creative!  I have found some great tutorials on YouTube as well as Instigram.

Next, time to groom the eyebrows so that I have a great base to actually start wearing makeup again!  I went to one of my favorite YouTuber's, Kandee Johnson for some tips.  She's so amazing, make sure you check her out!
The next thing I need to work on is makeup.  I seem to have forgotten how to apply makeup!  I really need a ton of practice.  I think since I have not worn makeup in so long that when I do put it on, I feel like a clown.  So, I keep trying.
One thing that I have been doing is subscribing to Ipsy and Birchbox. These are wonderful subscription boxes that send beauty product samples right to your door every month.  I love them!  I've discovered all sorts of makeup that I would never have bought before.  If your new to makeup, these subscription boxes are a great way to get your feet wet!
Here's to the new me!  Let's get this party started!
