Last year was the first time we did the Elf on a Shelf. Our elf arrived after Thanksgiving dinner. It was great fun! But, I think we may have added him to our family a bit too early. After a few weeks, we were running out of ideas! By the end of the day, mom and dad were tired and coming up with a clever and funny new adventure became torture. This year, I did find an awesome idea from Domestic Femme. She suggested making a calender! How brilliant! It falls right in place with my obsession with LISTS! So, I have decided to give her idea a try this year. If you visit her blog, she has a handy little calender that you can click on and ease some of the workload of your Holiday festivities!
This year, I've been looking around Pinterest hoping to find new and clever ideas for our friendly elf. What has been the best Elf experience you have had with your kids so far?!
A few of the things we did last year were:
Playing Candyland with our stuffed animal friends
Fishing in the toilet
Marshmallow bath in the sink
Stealing money from Daddy's wallet
TP'ing the downstairs
Drawing mustaches on family photo's with a dry erase marker
Hanging underwear on the Christmas Tree
Being tied up by brothers Star Wars figures
Coloring in our favorite coloring book
Thank you SO much for featuring my calendar! :) Our elf was found covered in gift wrap bows this morning. Haha!
ReplyDeleteLoved your idea DomesticFemme! It's really helped our family. Our elf was hiding in the Rice Krispies with her other Elf friends today :)
