Fall is in the Air!

Fall has finally arrived.  For some time, it has been warm.  Warm enough to send the kids to school in shorts!  But, now, it has finally taken a turn and I can now enjoy my favorite season of the year.

Fall has come - and I LOVE IT!

Fall makes me think of snuggles, warm blankets, sitting around a fire, hot coco and warm cider, the smell of fallen leaves...it's so romantic.

Fall also makes me start to think about the Holiday season.  This year, Halloween has snuck up on me.  In ten days it will be time to trick or treat and I have yet to get the kids costumes together.  Over the weekend, I did take some of the kids to the Pumpkin Patch and my youngest wanted to buy every pumpkin that she saw.  After $40 worth of pumpkins for just two kids....I had to cut them off.  We built a fire outside and carved a few of the pumpkins.  So I guess we have entered Halloween.

But, Halloween is not one of my favorite holidays.  I don't like the new craze of the "living dead" or gore and blood.  I do like to decorate for Fall, but I'll leave the tombstones and goblins for someone else.

Thanksgiving and Christmas seem to be the ones that really spark my attention.  Something magical about the entire season.  Especially when there are kids around.  I've gotten myself so excited, that I'm going to start baking early this year and get care baskets out to my family out of state.  I don't usually send anything to the grown ups, but I was thinking....who doesn't love to get a surprise in the mail?!

The Holidays will be very different this year.  It will be on a very strict budget....and I actually think that will make us so much more thankful for all that we have.  Enjoy your Holiday Season!  However you choose to spend it!
