Yesterday, was Christmas. What a great day we had! We have been saving for years to go to Disney and decided to announce the actual trip on Christmas morning. My hubby and I were so crazy, excited! We had watched You Tube videos for months trying to get great ideas on how to tell the kids the news. We built up wild expectations. We thought the girls would break down in tears with joy and excitement. They would jump up and down and yell - "WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY"!!!
Well, it didn't really work out that way. Not at all. I guess I just didn't think it out very well. I bought a large box and put in a huge Mini Mouse balloon. On the balloon was a not saying, You Are Going to Disney. Also in the box were our tickets and shirts with the girls names on them. Well, they opened the box. My four year old, can't read....so, she thought it was a giant box with a boring tshirt inside. My other daughter just looked at us and said, "ya, right". You see, my hubby likes to kid all the time. He is a joker. And well, my middle daughter just thought it was another joke. So, our surprise was a fail. But! As the day went on...they seemed to realize it was for real. And by the end of the day, they were wanting to go RIGHT NOW! I'm glad they are excited. Sadly, they have to wait a tad before we can go. Not long though.
Now, since the secret is out....I get to get busy and prepare for the small details of the trip. Such as packing, working on my grocery list (we have a full kitchen in our hotel), scheduling dinner reservations and shopping for a few little outfits. I'm still very excited and can't wait to go!
