Christmas Care Packages of Cookies

I haven't written on my blog for a few days because honestly, I was consumed with Thanksgiving.  Cooking for my in-laws is always stressful to me.  My first Thanksgiving at their house, caught me off guard.  We all sat down to eat a wonderful meal that my mother-n-law slaved over and first bite in my father-n-law says, "this turkey is dry".

Well!  My jaw just about dropped.  I thought, this poor woman!  Then everyone laughed.  Some inside joke that I missed.  So now, I cook...and everyone waits for Pop Pop to state the fact that my turkey is "dry"...but I know he's just kidding.  Even so, I feel like I go to extreme measures to make sure the dinner is ready on time (because Pop pop likes things on time) and hopefully has some flavor without being dry.

Now its the day after Thanksgiving and my body aches.  I did most of the cleanup yesterday.  So, today is just some light cleaning. But I would actually like to sleep the day away.  But I'm sure the family would not appreciate that.

Time to now focus on Christmas.  I am lucky that my husband and I have most of our shopping done already.  Just some odds and ends really.  But, now it's time to think of baking and sending out packages to family out of state.  Our funds are tight this year, and I want to send a little something to a few people - so I thought I would send out care packages of goodies.  Who doesn't like getting a little surprise in the mail!  Let alone - treats!

I found a wonderful blog with tons of wonderful cookie ideas!  I think many on this blog would work out great for shipping.  I'm so excited to get to baking!  Here is my first selection from www.iheartnaptime.net 's long list of cookie ideas!
